You're probably like me and don't need a compelling reason to scarf down potato chips but here's one anyway. Made in Nepal and part of the fair trade agreement these recycled potato chip baskets would be such a colorful addition to your home. Chomp away!
We've all been guilty of walking down a street and ignoring the trash strewn about but not this designer! While walking on the beach in his native England, artist Stuart Haygarth began collecting the garbage washed up onto the sand and viola! the Tide Chandelier was born. Made from hundreds of recycled pieces hung individually and lit from within, the chandelier represents our moon and the tides responsible for bringing the trash to the shore. Inspired!
Oh, if only I were creative enough to think of this! Made entirely from recycled newspaper and cardboard, Hip & Zen's Spaceship Paper Vase is funky enough to adorn a coffee table or entryway and thoughtfully comes complete with metal insert for flowers.
This is such a quirky idea. Designed in 2002 the human calendar was inspired by the opening scene in the Brady Bunch. Wouldn't this be a great project to borrow and get the kids in on? I think they'd get a kick out of seeing their faces everyday and it would be fairly easy to replicate. Too cute!
These uber-cool pieces from bike furniture are so creative! I can see one of the chairs fitting wonderfully in a little boy's room and talk about a planet-saver. All pieces are made from old bike parts that would have otherwise been banished to a landfill. You don't get more green than this!
I am loving all of the graphic prints on the market lately! These whimsical wall stickers from Ferm Living are right up my alley - not only are they perfectly fun, they are removable and re-usable!
